ALMS Nostalgia . . . From Jeff Muller

Jeff Muller, who will be a regular contributor here, shares some images of former Formula One racer Emanuele Pirro when the Italian star competed in the American LeMans Series.

Jeff took these images July 20, 2007, at the Acura Sports Car Challenge of Mid-Ohio.

Pirro joined Audi North America teammate Marco Werner, of Germany, to finish third in that event at Lexington, Ohio.

In this first picture, Pirro navigates Turn 6 in his Audi R8.

In the second, Jeff captures Pirro approaching the Honda bridge on the back side of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Pirro won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times and recorded 19 ALMS victories and two series titles.
